Fire has broken out onboard Island Princess off Alaska. The accident has occurred Monday morning (May 15), when the ship was in Glacier Bay National Park.
Leaking oil in the engine room has inflamed and caused small fire on Island Princess Deck 4. There has been emergency announcement. The crew have restricted spreading of the flames and extinguished it completely within 30 minutes.
All passengers were informed about the situation. Coast Guard inspectors boarded the Princess Cruises ship and made a special survey.
Island Princess did not suffer technical failures and went on with the cruise.
