Passenger Medevaced From Norwegian Cruise Ship

The U.S. Coast Guard has airlifted an ill passenger off a Norwegian cruise ship on Sunday, October 15, around 13 miles away from Atlantic City.

In a statement, officials said that Norwegian Breakaway's crew had contacted watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Delaware Bay at about 7:00 p.m. to inform about an ill traveller who needed medical care.

The rescue crew launched an Air Station Atlantic City helicopter, hoisted the female passenger aboard and then took her to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center.

The woman’s condition and identity were not released.
