MSC Cruises Unveils Summer 2020 Season

MSC Cruises recently announced its Summer 2020 season offerings.

  • The expert in Mediterranean-style cruising is due to deploy 11 ships in the popular cruise region. Along with line’s new flagship MSC Grandiosa, 3 other vessels ply the Western Mediterranean waters: MSC Fantasia, MSC Seaview and MSC Divina. This innovative newbuild spends a 2nd summer in the Mediterranean, visiting Barcelona on Saturdays, followed by Cannes and Civitavecchia (Rome). MSC Divina is scheduled to sail to the Balearic Islands, with calls in Ibiza and late night stay in Palma de Mallorca, with the addition of a full day in Naples. MSC Fantasia is due to visit the islands of Sicily and Sardinia, as well as call in Valencia. In the Eastern Mediterranean, 5 MSC ships are to be deployed in order to meet increasing demand for the picturesque region. MSC Opera, MSC Orchestra, MSC Magnifica, MSC Musica, and MSC Sinfonia all offer Greek Islands' itineraries and the best of Adriatic Sea, visiting Dubrovnik, Mykonos and departing from Venice. MSC Poesia and Splendida autumn itineraries offer 12- or 9-night cruises to Portugal and Morocco, Madeira and Canary Islands.
  • After her christening ceremony in November 2019, MSC Cruises' Grandiosa kicks off her first summer season with one of line's most popular itineraries, sailing from Genoa to Naples, where passengers can travel to the UNESCO World Heritage Site, the ruins of Pompeii. From there, the ship sails to Messina and onwards to Valletta. Prior to returning to Genoa, Grandiosa makes her final calls in Barcelona and Marseilles.

MSC Preziosa cruise ship

  • 4 MSC Cruises ships are due to be deployed in Northern Europe in summer 2020, sailing on longer cruises of up to 14 nights onboard MSC Preziosa, that sails from Hamburg and heads north into the Atlantic, to Norway and Iceland. Preziosa also offers 7-night Northen Pearls trips from Hamburg visiting Le Havre, Southampton, Amsterdam and Zeebrugge. MSC Poesia, which is homeported in Warnemunde offers 11-night Baltic voyages and a mixture of 7-night trips, visiting the Norwegian Fjords and the Baltic capitals. MSC Meraviglia returns to Northern Europe and MSC Splendida joins Meraviglia in the homeport of Kiel with a variety of itineraries, such as a long voyage to the Emerald Isle of Ireland and another rounding of North Cape, prior to returning to Kiel. One of the key highlights in Northern Europe is MSC Poesia’s 21-night sailing including Greenland and Iceland.
  • For 2020, MSC Seaside continues with her Caribbean cruises, sailing 7-night itineraries out of Miami FL and visiting Ocho Rios, George Town and Cozumel. Rounding out Western Caribbean, MSC Armonia is due to call in Havana. San Juan, St Thomas, Ocean Cay and Nassau combine both itineraries for a 2-week-long cruise. Both ships also call in MSC Cruises’ private marine reserve, Ocean Cay, which opens in November 2019.
