A rescue boat was lowered to bring the person, a Mexican citizen, onboard and provide medical treatment, water and food.

The staff aboard Carnival Paradise coordinated with the Mexican authorities in order to transfer the navigator to a ferry and take him ashore.

According to the cruise line, after the operation, the sailor was in "good condition".

At the time of the accident, Carnival Paradise was on a 4-day trip, which departed on Thursday, May 16, from Tampa FL and returned to the homeport on May 20.
