American Jazz Launched Ahead of Schedule

ACL-American Cruise Lines announced that it had launched American Jazz at Chesapeake Shipbuilding (Salisbury MD) on October 13, 5 weeks ahead of schedule.

American Jazz is the third modern riverboat in the United States and the third ship in ACL's series of 5 "modern riverboats" - all constructed by Chesapeake Shipbuilding.

The fourth riverboat in this series, American Melody, is also under construction at Chesapeake Shipbuilding. She will boast a number of design changes from the first three vessels in the series.

Once complete, American Jazz will feature 6 decks, passenger capacity 194, 100 staterooms, and have the same stylish contemporary design as the first and second modern series riverboats, American Song and American Harmony).

The new riverboat boasts a multi-story glass Atrium (midship) and company's distinctive opening bow platform with a retractable gangway. The Jazz ship is scheduled to start its Mississippi cruise program for ACL in 2020-Q3.
