There is only one more cruise ship booked to dock in December 2019 - CMV Marco Polo - for what has been a record season for Port Cork with 100 passenger liners visiting this year. In total 243,000+ passengers and crew visited the cruise port in 2019.
Port Cork operates Bantry Bay Port Company as well, which handled 10 cruise vessels in West Cork during summer 2019 as the Irish ports Bantry and Glengarriff can handle only smaller-siezed cruise ships.
Bantry Bay Port Company developed a cruise strategy for Bantry to grow the business in West Cork as the "small cruise shipping" market shows a huge growth potential in recent years.
