Silja Europa Enters Dry Dock for Renovation

The Tallink Grupp-owned cruiseferry Silja Europa entered drydock at Turku Repair Yard (Naantali, Finland) for scheduled renovations and general maintenance.

The shipyard team will upgrade multiple passenger areas on the ship, including the conference area, Sauna Bar, Satellite Bar, and Starlight Palace show bar. In addition, the ceilings in the Sea Shop and Buffet Restaurant will be fully renovated. New carpets will be fitted in Silja Europa's spa, stairwells, the bridge, the crew corridor on the 6th deck, and 37 passenger cabins.

While in dry dock, the yard's team will equip the ferry with a ballast water treatment system as well as replace her provision cooling system and automation and power management systems. Silja Europa will be equipped with the technology needed to connect to high-voltage shoreside power while berthed.

Silja Europa, which is the 4th Tallink Grupp ship to be refurbished in the first quarter of this year, will return to service on the route between Tallinn and Helsinki on February 9.
