The delivery of the new “E-Motion ship” (Arosa Emotion) of A-ROSA River Cruises, which was originally scheduled for May 2021, has been postponed until March 2022 due to disruption to the supply chain caused by the pandemic.

The newbuild vessel is currently under construction at Santierul Naval Severnav (shipyard in Drobeta-Turnu Severin, Romania). After completing the hull and superstructure, the vessel's interior will be completed at Concordia Damen Shipbuilding (in Werkendam, Holland). The inaugural cruise itineraries (Northern Rhine River) are planned for April 2022.

Arosa Emotion will feature an ‘E-Motion’ concept allowing the ship to switch to battery power when approaching a port city and arrive emission-free. The ship will be charged overnight via the shore power connection.

The newbuild has been specifically designed to cater for the multigenerational market. A-ROSA Emotion will boast a range of new features including spacious cabins sleeping up to 5 people, a dedicated kids club, and a separate children’s pool next to the main pool. The ship also offers a separate suite area, large balcony cabins, and various restaurant areas.
