Avalon Waterways requires COVID vaccination, negative test or virus immunity

The river cruise company Avalon Waterways announced updates to its pre-cruise Health & Safety Protocols including proof of COVID vaccines, negative test results or virus immunity in order to join its river voyages, independent vacation packages and tours in North America.

Travellers are now required to offer the personnel one of the following printed and/or digital verifications upon arrival:

  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination at least 14 days before travel
  • Proof of a negative COVID-19 test (NAAT/PCR or antigen) result within 72-hours of travel
  • Proof of recovery from a confirmed COVID-19 diagnosis within 3 months of travel

Without one of these verifications, travellers will not be able to join a planned vacation with Avalon Waterways, Monograms, Globus or Cosmos.

In addition to announcing new parameters required at the beginning of each vacation departure, Globus brands announced they would facilitate and cover additional Coronavirus (COVID-19) testing if required, for passengers to return to their home country, along with tests on a trip in case guests show any symptoms.

The new protocols take effect in April 2021.

The company is also offering passengers more payment flexibility. The Globus family of brands shortened the final payment window for all brands to 45 days before departure.
