RCI-Royal Caribbean International informed passengers booked on the maiden voyage of Odyssey of the Seas from the USA that the inaugural cruise had been moved and the itinerary shortened.

In an email going out to customers on Tuesday, March 30, the company informed them that the first scheduled trip of Odyssey of the Seas out of Fort Lauderdale FL on November 11 had changed.

According to Royal Caribbean, the impetus for changing the voyage was a "result of welcome events scheduled for the ship."

Odyssey OTS will still offer her first sailing from Fort Lauderdale just departing on a different day with a modified itinerary.

If passengers booked on the November 11 voyage do nothing, they are automatically moved to the new first sailing on November 15. The automatic move will start on April 14.

Royal Caribbean offers US$100 onboard credit for Interior, Oceanview, and Balcony staterooms and US$200 onboard credit for Suites. Guests moving to a different cruise also qualify for the US$100 or US$200 onboard credit offer, along with reimbursement for flights.

The other option is to move to a different cruise ship and sailing, or a full refund.

When Odyssey of the Seas arrives in North America to commence her cruise season in November, the ship will offer 6- to 8-night itineraries out of Fort Lauderdale to the Caribbean.
