Celebrity Cruises announced new protocols for passengers sailing this summer including changes to vaccine, mask, and shore excursion rules.

The protocols apply to summer cruises from Philipsburg (St Maarten Island, Dutch Antilles) and Piraeus-Athens, Greece.

The policies are an introduction to the new health and safety protocols travelers can expect once sailing onboard Celebrity Millennium beginning in a few weeks, and Celebrity Apex from Greece.

The major health protocols revealed include:

  • Passengers 16+ need to be vaccinated (the rule was previously 18+)
  • Fully vaccinated guests can book third-party shore excursions, and are not limited to cruise line tours in case the port allows it. Celebrity Cruises will advise guests on board if they can go on their own or not, and need to wear a mask in port.
  • Onboard the cruise ship, fully vaccinated guests are not required to wear masks inside/outside while maintaining a safe distance from other travelers.
  • Back to Back Cruises (B2Bs) are permitted for fully vaccinated passengers. Vaccinated guests on these voyages will take another antigen test before the 2nd leg. Unvaccinated guests will have to take a 2nd PCR test.
