RCI-Royal Caribbean's ship Odyssey of the Seas arrived at Port Palma de Mallorca (Majorca Island, Balearic Spain) Monday morning, May 24, as there was a health emergency onboard - 2 crew members had tested COVID-positive and were to disembark in the port.

The liner didn't dock at Palma, but for two hours remained anchored in the bay guarded by a Guardia Civil (coastguard) boat. High-protection ambulances went to the port to receive the infected crew. The transfer operation was overseen by the Spanish external health service.

The two crew are said to be asymptomatic. They have been isolated in cabins.

The cruise ship had arrived from Civitavecchia-Rome Italy and is now en route to Port Everglades Florida USA.

Odyssey OTS is one of RCI's two Quantum Ultra class vessels - with sistership Spectrum Of The Seas.
