Smart Engines technology helped RCG-Royal Caribbean Group (world's second-largest cruise shipowner / after Carnival Corporation) streamline the passenger boarding at port terminals.

The use of the Smart ID Engine reduces friction and improves the vacation experience, freeing terminal agents’ time to focus on personalizing passenger interactions.

Using Smart Engines technology, passengers are presented with a travel document scanning process that is fast and intuitive and offers the traveler a streamlined experience in the cruise terminal prior to boarding.

Indeed, most passengers quickly scan their travel documents at home prior to traveling to the terminal. When documents' scanning is necessary at the cruise terminal, terminal agents handle the task leveraging the Smart ID Engine.

Tim Klauda (RCG's VP Product) said that by leveraging Smart Engines Smart ID Engine technology, they had been able to advance the passenger arrival experience "by removing friction, and by simplifying the experience at home and at the terminal.”

The newly implemented technology applies to customers of all RCG-owned subsidiaries, including RCI-Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity and Silversea.
