The TUI-owned cruise ship, Mein Schiff 6 became the first cruise ship to return to the terminal in Port Zayed (Abu Dhabi UAE), following the lifting of restrictions earlier in 2021.

Passengers arriving on November 6 in Abu Dhabi on the 2.534-guest Blue Motion Class pleasure ship were tempted away from their floating hotel, which boasts 11 restaurants, 16 bars, a spa, and a cycling track, to experience the touristic tug of the city.

Those who disembarked Mein Schiff 6 to embark on an Abu Dhabi adventure, praised the safety, shopping, hospitality, and varied sightseeing opportunities of the capital.

The arrival of Mein Schiff 6 represents the launch of Abu Dhabi’s 2021-2022 cruise season, and a boost for tourism in the emirate. In 2019, 11.35+ million international visitors came to experience the wonders of Abu Dhabi, ~518,000 (~5%) of those, came via 193 individual cruise ship calls.

Though that might not sound like much, it represents huge growth (a 46% year-on-year increase).
