NCL-Norwegian Cruise Line redesigns cruise rewards program

NCL-Norwegian Cruise Line redesigned its cruise rewards / loyalty program in order to make it easier to achieve the next status.

NCL's Latitudes Rewards program now features 7 tiers, including a new Diamond status and Sapphire, which replaced the Platinum Plus tier.

Most tiers require fewer points now to unlock the new status level. For example, Silver status is available to passengers with 20 Rewards Points, in comparison with 30 previously.

Cruisers earn 1 point for every night they travel, with an additional point per night for bookings of the Haven and suites, and for members who book the Latitudes Rewards Insider Offer.

Under Norwegian's new points system, a passenger who books a 10-day cruise in a suite will reach Silver status after that one trip.

The program is adding new offers and perks based on status, including the one-time free cabin upgrade, member cruises, a mixology experience, Wines Around the World tasting experience, and internet package discounts.

NCL's Benefits that Latitudes members still get as they move up the ranks feature members-only cocktail parties, priority tender and disembarkation, complimentary specialty dining and laundry service, discounted shore excursions, photo packages, spa treatments, and duty-free shopping.
