February 2005Cruise Illness / Virus Outbreaks

Reportedly, on the 7-day Caribbean cruise (itinerary February 20 to 27) roundtrip from Cozumel Mexico, a Norovirus outbreak (gastrointestinal illness) infected 5-10% of all passengers (around 50 people).

Note: When the itinerary doesn’t include US cruise ports, the ship is not required to report to CDC, thus no official illness report would be issued.
