Deck layouts, review of facilities, activities, amenities

Costa Magica deck plan review at CruiseMapper provides newest cruise deck plans (floor layouts of the vessel) extracted from the officially issued by Costa Cruises deckplan pdf (printable version).

Each of the Costa Magica cruise ship deck plans are conveniently combined with a legend (showing cabin codes) and detailed review of all the deck's venues and passenger-accessible indoor and outdoor areas. A separate link provides an extensive information on Costa Magica staterooms (cabins and suites), including photos, cabin plans and amenities by room type and category.

Costa Magica (built 2004, last refurbished in 2017 December) is the fifth (last) Destiny-class vessel – together with The Costa Cruises ship Costa Fortuna and the Carnival Cruise Line ships Destiny-SunshineTriumph-Sunrise and Victory.

Costa Magica cruise ship deck plan has a total of 1358 staterooms for 2716 passengers (max capacity is 3250 guests), served by 1070 crew/staff. The ship has 13 passenger decks (all named after famous Italian painters), 4 restaurants, 11 lounges and bars, 4 swimming pools (one with retractable glass roof), 6 jacuzzies, 12 elevators. Magica has no self-service laundromats on board.

Magica has over 5500 artworks on display at various places throughout the ship.

Besides the ship's staff and crew, Costa cruise passengers are also served by Peper robots - latest cyborg technology implemented fleetwide in 2016. These humanoid robots greet and guide passengers upon embarkation. They also assist them throughout the cruise by providing information and tips on onboard dining, entertainment, enrichment program (workshops, pre-scheduled events), casino and shopping promotions, shore excursions and tours. Pepper robots are mobile and communicate in 3 languages (English, German, Italian). They can also interpret human emotions by analyzing voice tones and face expressions.

Costa Magica drydock 2017 refurbishment review

The ship's 2017 drydock refurbishment (November 25 - December 1) was done at Chantier Naval de Marseille shipyard (Marseille France). Along with the general maintenance works, the ship also received significant upgrades of its public areas and interior.

  • Vicenza Club Restaurant and Bellagio Buffet Restaurant were renovated with new layouts and updated galley / kitchen areas. The updates now allow Suite passengers and Costa Club Diamond Pearl (loyalty program) members to enjoy the Vicenza Club Restaurant. The Buffet Bellagio's layout was improved with more efficient space allocation.
  • The ship's wellness complex (gym and spa) was extensively renovated. A new relaxation room, sauna room and thalassotherapy area were added.
  • Gelateria Amarillo (premium ice-cream shop) was added. The new ice-cream bar offers Italian gelato with Agrimontana flavourings.
  • During the refit was also installed a digital signage system consisting of high-res monitors and interactive touch screens.
