Carnival Sunrise (built 1999 as "Carnival Triumph", Fun Ship 2.0 refurbished in 2016, renamed “Sunrise” after a major refit and refurbishment in 2019) is the second of two converted Carnival cruise ships in the Sunshine-class - with sistership Carnival Sunshine (formerly Carnival Destiny). As cruise vessel class, the Triumph-Sunrise ship is the second of all three Destiny-class liners – together with Destiny-Sunshine and Victory, and also Costa Cruises ships Fortuna and Magica.
In 2019 (March-April) Carnival Triumph is scheduled to enter drydock for around USD 200 million refurbishment, after which it will be renamed "Carnival Sunrise". The refitted liner will be transformed into Sunshine-Class vessel. It will have the same facilities and amenities as the sistership Carnival Sunshine (refitted in 2013 for USD 155 million). Carnival Sunrise decks with passenger cabins had a total of 50 Suites, 472 Balconies, 323 Oceanviews, 534 Inside cabins.
Carnival Sunrise cruise ship deck plan has a total of 1492 staterooms for 2984 passengers (max capacity is 3730 guests), served by 1110 crew/staff. The ship has 13 passenger decks (10 with cabins), 22 lounges and bars, 3 swimming pools (one with retractable glass roof), 7 jacuzzies, 10 elevators.
Carnival Triumph had a total of 1379 staterooms for 2758 passengers (max capacity is 3310 guests), served by 1040 crew/staff, 13 passenger decks (8 with cabins), 18 lounges and bars, 4 swimming pools (one with retractable glass roof), 7 jacuzzies. Carnival Triumph decks with passenger cabins had a total of 53 Suites, 502 Balconies, 314 Oceanviews, 616 Inside cabins.
Laundry facilities (Self Service Laundromats / passenger-use launderettes) are at extra-charge – $3,25 (per washer or dryer load) and $1,5 per box (detergent/water softener, dispensed from the vending machine in the room). Launderettes (open between 6:30 am – 12 midnight) are located on all cabin decks. Each laundry room is equipped with 2-3 washers, 2-3 dryers, 1 ironing board/iron. All laundry machines accept coins only (can’t be operated using S&S cards). While the ship is in port, washing machines are closed (only dryers and irons can be used). Valet laundry service is handled through the cabin steward. Prices are per item – wash-and-press ($2 – $7,50), no dry-cleaning.
Carnival Triumph-Sunrise deck plan changes 2019 refurbishment review
Following the drydock refit, Carnival Sunrise will have 12 new bar and dining options, plus fleetwide facilities, among which are company's signature RedFrog Pub (Caribbean rums and beers, Carnival ThirstyFrog Red Ale), Chef’s Table (multi-course VIP dining), SportsSquare (ropes course, basketball court, jogging track, 9-hole minigolf course), Carnival Waterworks park with waterslides (203 ft / 62 m and 212 ft / 65 m long), Serenity Retreat (adult-only lounge), Video Gaming Arcade, Fun Shops, comedy club, new theatre.
The Carnival Sunrise liner will have 4 new suites - two Captain’s Suites (850 ft2 / 79 m2) and two Grand OceanView Suites (320 ft2 / 30 m2). All passenger staterooms will be thoroughly updated. Captain’s Suites have max capacity 5 passengers and are located next to Navigation Bridge.

Carnival Triumph deck plan changes 2013 refurbishment review
The list of deck plan changes made during the 2013 drydock refurbishment includes:
- new dining options (Lido Deck 9): Guy’s Burger, Bluelguana Cantina
- new bars: BlueIguana Tequila Bar (Deck 9), Alchemy Bar (Promenade Deck 5), EA SPORTS (Deck 5, replacing the Olympic Bar), RedFrog Rum Bar (Deck 5)
- Various technical enhancements were also implemented.
