Deck layouts, review of facilities, activities, amenities

Carnival Elation deck plan review at CruiseMapper provides newest cruise deck plans (2025-2026-2027 valid floor layouts of the vessel) extracted from the officially issued by Carnival Cruise Line deckplan pdf (printable version).

Each of the Carnival Elation cruise ship deck plans are conveniently combined with a legend (showing cabin codes) and detailed review of all the deck's venues and passenger-accessible indoor and outdoor areas. A separate link provides an extensive information on Carnival Elation staterooms (cabins and suites), including photos, cabin plans and amenities by room type and category.

Carnival Elation (1998-built, last refurbished in 2017 / Fun Ship 2.0, scheduled refurbishment in March 2020, last drydocking in January–February 2023) is the seventh of Carnival Cruise Line's eight Fantasy-class ships, along with Fantasy, Imagination, Inspiration, Paradise, and the "balcony ships" Ecstasy, Fascination, Sensation.

The Carnival Elation deck plan includes a total of 1,094 staterooms for 2,188 passengers (maximum capacity 2,626), served by 900 crew members. The ship features 11 passenger decks (7 with cabins), 12 lounges and bars, 3 swimming pools, 6 Jacuzzis (large whirlpool hot tubs), and 14 elevators.

Passenger cabin decks include 54 Suites, 564 Oceanviews, 408 Inside cabins, and self-service laundromats. Laundry services are available at an extra charge—$3.25 per washer or dryer load, and $1.50 per detergent/softener box (dispensed via vending machines). Launderettes (open from 6:30 a.m. to midnight) are located on all cabin decks and equipped with 2–3 washers, 2–3 dryers, and 1 ironing board with an iron. Machines accept coins only (Sail & Sign cards are not accepted). While the ship is in port, washers are unavailable (only dryers and irons may be used). Valet laundry service is handled by the cabin steward, with prices per item for wash-and-press ranging from $2 to $7.50. Dry-cleaning is not available.

Although the Elation did not receive full Fun Ship 2.0 upgrades during its 2014 refurbishment, it underwent routine maintenance (including new carpeting, deep cleaning, updated fitness equipment, and some enhancements to the Club O2 teen lounge).

Carnival Elation Deck Plan Changes – 2020 Refurbishment

From March 2–26, 2019, the ship entered drydock at Grand Bahama Shipyard (Freeport, Bahamas). During this refurbishment, 30 new staterooms and the Alchemy Bar were added aft on Deck 9 (Promenade), in the space formerly occupied by the Cole Porter Lounge.

Additional upgrades included remodeled venues and the addition of JavaBlue Café (patisserie/coffee bar) and Bonsai Sushi Express (complimentary take-away sushi bar).

During the 2023 drydock (January 21–February 10), general maintenance was performed, and select areas of the ship received cosmetic enhancements and new carpeting.

Carnival Elation Deck Plan Changes – 2017 Refurbishment

During the drydock from August 31 to September 27, 2017 (also at Freeport, Bahamas), the following upgrades were made:

  • 38 new staterooms were added, including 2 Grand Vista Suites, 22 Junior Suites, 2 Scenic Oceanviews, and 12 Interior cabins. Balconies were added to 98 existing cabins on decks 5 (Main), 6 (Upper), and 7 (Empress), increasing passenger capacity from 2,052 (max 2,606) to 2,128 (max 2,554).
  • The new staterooms were modular (delivered as a 7-sub-block unit) and pre-manufactured by ALMACO Group—a marine outfitting company providing cabins, wet units, galleys, provision stores, and crew quarters. Elevator lobbies and staircases were also renovated.
  • On Lido Deck 10, Guy’s Burger Joint was added—a complimentary poolside venue serving handcrafted burgers and fresh-cut fries.
  • Also on Lido Deck 10, BlueIguana Cantina was introduced—offering fresh-made burritos and tacos on homemade tortillas with a salsa bar and toppings selection. The BlueIguana Tequila Bar, a Mexican-themed outdoor bar, was also added.
  • On Promenade Deck 9, RedFrog Rum Bar was added—serving tropical drinks, frozen cocktails, and Carnival’s exclusive ThirstyFrog Red draft beer.
  • In the Elation’s Way Promenade area near the Drama Bar, Cherry On Top was introduced—a candy and gift shop also offering Carnival-branded apparel and toys.
  • On Verandah Deck 11, Camp Carnival was replaced with Camp Ocean, and Carnival WaterWorks was added at the aft—featuring a Splash Zone, two mini racing slides, and the Twister Waterslide.
  • On Deck 14, the 9-hole Mini-Golf Course was relocated and redesigned to include a bocce court.
  • The retail shops were redesigned and upgraded with branded boutiques such as Guess and Pandora. The Photo Gallery was converted to a digital platform under the Pixels brand.
  • Technical upgrades included shoreside power capabilities.
