Review of Disney Destiny deck 5 (Upper Promenade-Spa-Sports-Teens-Dining3)
Shipside Promenade is an outdoor passenger-accessible area spanning 3 decks (decks 4 and 5 midship, and deck 6 forward).
The wellness complex "Senses" (Spa & Beauty) offers all the usual treatments (haircuts, manicures) and more exotic choices (hot-stone massages, mud baths).
- Senses Spa features an outdoor relaxation space/sundeck (with Jacuzzis, padded sun loungers and deckchairs) where can also be held open-air Yoga sessions.
- Senses Spa's "The Rainforest" (ice lounge) offers thermal therapies and is fitted with heated loungers, sensory showers.
- The wellness complex also has treatment rooms (for massages), sauna room, steam room, dry room, spa villas (for couples).
- Senses Fitness Center consists of a large main room (with premium gym equipment) and separate Cycle Studio and Aerobics Studio (where at an additional fee are offered Yoga and Pilates classes).
Untangled Salon (Beauty Parlor) and Hook's Barbery (Barber Shop/Men's Salon) are DCL fleet's first venues dedicated to hair- and beauty services for adults.
- Untangled Salon (themed on Princess Rapunzel from Disney's movie "Tangled", 2010) is colored in purple and gold and offers haircuts and styling, manicures, pedicures, teeth whitening, skin treatments.
- Hook's Barbery (themed on Captain Hook/from Disney's movie "Peter Pan", 1953) is decorated in dark woods, furnished with leather chairs and golden mirrors, and offers haircuts, shaves, skincare and nail services. Part of the Barbery is a hidden bar serving premium liquors (bourbons, vintage whiskies, aged rums).
Pluto's Corner is a casual, family-oriented food location themed around Pluto, designed as a quick-service venue integrated into the ship’s public deck area and positioned to serve simple, accessible meals within a playful setting aimed at younger guests and families.
The Sports Deck has a small sports court, a mini-golf course, Ping-Pong tables, power walking/jogging track.
Cask and Cannon is a themed pub located forward on the same deck, built around the Pirates of the Caribbean concept and designed as a bar and social space with a focus on rum and specialty drinks, using décor that reflects pirate artifacts and a “collected treasure” aesthetic, while also functioning as a lounge where guests can gather for drinks and casual entertainment such as televised events.
Triton Lounge is another bar and lounge venue, positioned near the central entertainment areas and functioning as a general-purpose indoor lounge space for drinks and social activity, similar in concept to lounges found on other Disney Cruise Line ships.
Saga Balcony (over deck 4's Saga / midship-located space with family-style entertainment during the day, and transforming in the evenings into an adults-only venue)
Grand Hall Atrium (level 3 of 3)
Disney Vacation Planning, including Disney Vacation Club (DVC), is a service area where guests can explore and book future Disney vacations, including cruises and resort stays, operating as an informational and sales-oriented space rather than an entertainment venue.
Mickey's Main Sail is one of the main retail shops on the ship, offering a wide range of Disney merchandise such as clothing, accessories and souvenirs, and is designed as a central shopping location within the deck’s public areas.
Shutters is the onboard photography shop where professional photos taken during the cruise are displayed and sold, functioning as both a gallery and retail space for printed images and photo packages.
Café Merida is a themed café inspired by the character Merida from Brave, serving beverages and light refreshments in a setting that references the film’s aesthetic and operates as a casual stop within the deck’s dining and lounge cluster.
Edge Lounge (11-14 yo teens-only club area, with a giant video wall, interactive games, Internet) is a youth space designed primarily for tweens, providing a supervised environment with seating, activities and social areas tailored to that age group, separated from both younger children’s clubs and older teen venues.
Pride Lands: Feast of The Lion King is one of the ship’s main rotational dining restaurants located on Deck 5, structured as an immersive dinner experience themed around The Lion King, combining African-inspired cuisine with live musical storytelling and performances that retell the narrative of Simba through songs and staged entertainment integrated into the dining environment.
