Viking Aegir (built 2012) is one of the Viking Cruises longships. This large riverboat is named after the "Lord of the Ocean" - the Norse mythology's sea god Aegir. He married Ran (sea goddess) and together they produced the Norse nine wave maidens. The name Aegir means "sea, ocean" in Old Norse.
Viking Aegir cruise ship deck plan has a total of 95 staterooms for 190 passengers (served by 50 crew/staff), 4 passenger decks (3 with cabins), 2-story Atrium (glass roof-covered midship area), 1 glass-enclosed elevator (passenger lift connecting Main-Upper decks only), two restaurants (Dining Room and Aquavit Terrace/Lido Buffet), Observation Bar Lounge, Library, Foyer (lobby area with Boutique Shop and Reception Desk), Sun Deck with Sky Bar (fore-located outdoor seating area with tables and chairs), SkyLight (glass roof over the Atrium), Wheelhouse/Bridge, shaded seating (covered by a large retractable awning and encircled by a Walking Track), Aft-Sundeck with putting green (mini-golf), Herb Garden (organic herbal garden) and deckgames area (shuffleboard, giant outdoor chessboard).
The Viking longship Aegir has no self-service laundry facilities (laundromats), fitness/gym room, swimming pool/whirlpool, spa/beauty salon. Passengers may access health and spa facilities at luxury hotels along the river cruisetour itinerary route.
