Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection reschedules the debut of its first new yacht Evrima until August

Citing ongoing labor and supply chain challenges created by COVID and the impact on building operations, The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection announced on Tuesday, March 1, that it would reschedule the debut of its first new yacht, Evrima

Evrima will now set sail on her inaugural voyage from Piraeus (Athens, Greece) on August 6. The delivery of the company's first new yacht has been delayed a number of times during the crisis. Delays have been the case for some other cruise ship operators building new ships

Douglas Prothero, CEO of the Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection said that like many in manufacturing, they had experienced a "significant impact from COVID-19 variants" as it related to labor and supply chain disruptions, and they had had to reevaluate the timing of their first voyage.

“We continue to make significant progress on Evrima and look forward to welcoming guests onboard this summer. We thank our guests for their support as we continue to navigate an evolving global landscape.”

Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection said it was personally reaching out to impacted passengers and their travel advisors. Vacationers impacted by the schedule change might choose to reschedule their cruise to an available itinerary in 2022/2023/2024 or discuss reimbursement options.
