Travel industry advocate and educator Vanessa McGovern was named godmother of Emerald Cruises’ 9th Star-Ship, Emerald Luna.
The christening ceremony is scheduled to take place on July 21, 2022, in Amsterdam (Netherlands).
Vanessa is a Chief Sales Officer and co-founder of Gifted Travel Network, as well as a respected business coach, advocate, and entrepreneur. The Virtuoso member agency GTN is a host agency with a mission to support "entrepreneurial-spirited travel professionals."
Vanessa McGovern serves on the ASTA Board of Directors Executive Committee and on their Government Affairs and Political Action Committee. She also spearheads ASTA Advocacy Awareness Day.
The newbuild 180-passenger Emerald Luna features the innovative balcony design of the cruise line in most cabins, complete with a decked area and open-air system, along with an indoor swimming pool with a retractable roof and cinema on the aft of the ship.
Luna's sisterships and fleetmates include Emerald Star, Emerald Sky, Emerald Sun, Emerald Dawn, Emerald Destiny.
