Executives from Royal Caribbean Group (RCG), Silversea Cruises, and Fincantieri, along with local dignitaries and esteemed guests, celebrated the christening of Silversea's 10th ship, Silver Dawn, with a formal ceremony and gala dinner in Lisbon (Portugal) on March 31.
An expression of the line’s rapid expansion, Silver Dawn became Silversea’s 3rd new ship to debut in 9 months. Her launch also marks the debut of Otium, travel’s most indulgent new wellness program, and the next iteration of the company’s S.A.L.T. culinary program.
After RCG’s customary bagpipe performance, which opened the naming ceremony, performers took to the stage, entertaining all attendees with a performance weaving a narrative from the 2021 launch of Silver Moon to the launch of Silver Dawn.
The newly named Silver Dawn's Godmother, Nilou Motamed - food & travel editor/tastemaker/TV personality - cut the ribbon to trigger the champagne bottle to smash on the ship’s hull.
