The Carnival Sunrise ship rescued 12 Cuban refugees from an unseaworthy boat en route to Florida (Miami USA) on Friday evening, July 29, 2022.
The ship did her duty to help people in distress and brought the 12 Cubans from the small boat onboard. To do this, Sunrise went off course and reduced speed. The ship docked at PortMiami Florida on time and handed over the rescued to local authorities.
In 2022 there have been several times about maritime rescues by United States cruise ships in the Caribbean.
Carnival Sunrise operates in the Caribbean and at the time of the accident was on a 5-day Western Caribbean itinerary with call ports in Jamaica (Ocho Rios) and the Caymans (Grand Cayman).
