Uniworld Boutique River Cruises commenced its inaugural "Rivers of the World" cruise in Cairo Egypt, marking the completion of the initial leg of the 46-night B2B/back-to-back voyage.
This unique itinerary (Uniworld's first) combines both river and land travel, taking guests to 9 countries aboard 5 luxurious Super Ships. Throughout the journey, participants can expect exclusive experiences and delightful surprises. For instance, they will have the opportunity to visit the newly constructed Grand Egyptian Museum before its official public opening. Additionally, a welcome celebration will be hosted by a surprise guest, Uniworld's President & CEO, Ellen Bettridge.
The trip unfolds with sailings on 4 distinct Super Ships, traversing eight additional countries. The adventure begins with crossing the Mediterranean Sea and landing in the Swiss Alps, where guests will enjoy a 2-night stay in the picturesque lakeside town of Lugano. This will be followed by 2 nights in Milan-Genoa, after which they will board SS La Venezia for a weeklong cruise along the Venetian Lagoon. The journey continues to Hungary, where guests will embark on SS Maria Theresa and sail from Budapest to Passau, experiencing the heart of the former Holy Roman Empire. Next, they will board SS Joie de Vivre in France, exploring the best of Northern France along the Seine. The itinerary concludes in Portugal, starting in Oporto Portugal with a cruise aboard SS Sao Gabriel through the Douro River Valley. This will be followed by a 3-night land stay in Lisbon (Portugal), culminating in a closing event.
