Uniworld SS Joie de Vivre ship cruises on Seine River in France, with departures from Paris. Uniworld's fleet of "super ships" also includes SS Beatrice (2009, formerly "River Beatrice"), SS Antoinette (2011), SS Catherine (2014), SS Maria Theresa (2015), SS Bon Voyage (2006, formerly River Royale). Uniworld (officially "Uniworld Boutique River Cruise Collection") is a major river cruise company part of The Travel Corporation group.
The vessel was built at LOA length 125 m (410 ft) as opposed to the standard 135 m (443 ft) specifically to allow docking in the heart of Paris.
The 128-passenger riverboat is Uniworld's first "super ship" on Seine River. The new cruise ship reflects the French philosophy “joy of living” and the nation’s profound appreciation for art, music, food and wine.
The ship's interior also features handcrafted furniture, rich fabrics, gilded and wrought-iron accents.
Cabins
The ship has a total of 64 cabins (2x Royal Suites, 8x Junior Suites and 54 standard staterooms) in 7 grades. All cabins are with made-to-order beds (by Savoir of England ) and with marble-lined, en-suite bathrooms. Staterooms and suites on deck La Princesse are with full balconies, which can be easily transformed into an enclosed conservatory-like sun lounge area. Other amenities include a pillow menu and professional butlers.
Itinerary
SS Joie de Vivre cruise program offers the popular “Paris and Normandy” itinerary. Cruises include scheduled airport transfers; port charges; all gratuities onboard/onshore; all meals with unlimited beverages (craft beers, superb local wines, premium spirits); daily guided shore excursions; concierge services; in-suite butler service; 24-hour room service; Wi-Fi.
Shipboard facilities
The Salon de Beaux-Arts lounge shows a collection of antiques and fine art curated from auction houses (like Christie’s and Sotheby’s), as well as from private art collections. Le Club l’Esprit boasts a cinema (Le Cinema Pigalle) and surrounding pool with a hydraulic floor, turning into a dance floor/outdoor cinema at night. Joie de Vivre cruise ship dining venues include the elegant Le Restaurant Pigalle, (Main dining room), Bistro Saint-Germain, Cafe Flore and the vinoteque La Cave de Vins for wine-pairing dinners and private dining.
There are also a Sun Deck (with L'Orangerie Sky Lounge), Boutique, Serenity River Spa, heated enclosed swimming pool and full-size checkerboard (on sundeck Deck de Montmartre). Additional amenities include laundry, elevator, 24h speciality coffee and tea bar.
