Following successful sea trials, Emerald Cruises' second custom-built superyacht is preparing to commence operations next month.

Emerald Sakara, after completing tests at the shipyard in Halong Vietnam, has obtained certification for passenger operations. She is now on a relocation itinerary (satellite AIS tracker) en route to Europe/Mediterranean in preparation for the 8-day maiden voyage on August 5th. The inaugural sailing departs from Piraeus-Athens (Greece) and ends in Civitavecchia-Rome (Italy).

Joining the Emerald Cruises fleet as the second 100-passenger ocean-going yacht, following the introduction of Emerald Azzurra in March 2022, Emerald Sakara will spend the summer season sailing the coastal waters of Italy, Greece, Turkey, and the Adriatic. She will later reposition herself to the Caribbean, sailing alongside her identical sistership during the winter.

The official christening of Emerald Sakara is scheduled to take place on December 2nd in San Juan (Puerto Rico), with Kelly Craighead (CLIA's president and CEO) serving as godmother.

Expressing satisfaction with the performance of Emerald Sakara during her sea trials, Glen Moroney, founder and chairman of Scenic Group, the parent company, stated they were extremely pleased with how well their newest 100-guest luxury yacht, Emerald Sakara, had performed in her sea trials – she had exceeded their expectations in every way.

"We’re thrilled to be able to share our newest gem in less than a month’s time and look forward to offering our guests wonderful experiences in the Caribbean and Central America this fall and winter."
