After undergoing necessary drydock repairs following weather damage in December 2023, HX-Hurtigruten's expedition ship MS Maud is now scheduled to resume revenue operations in April 2024.

The vessel will commence an expedition around the British Isles, allowing guests to explore diverse coastlines and remote islands with the support of HX's Expedition Team. Notably, on the second British Isles voyage, the ship will host Carol Kirkwood (renowned Scottish weather presenter) who will engage guests with insightful talks and Q&A sessions during the voyage from Douglas to Dover.

In July, MS Maud will navigate the European Arctic, presenting guests with extraordinary expeditions to Greenland and Iceland. Notably, it made history as the first cruise ship to connect to shore power in Iceland. Crafted by HX's team of experts, these itineraries aim to bring guests closer to the local communities and wilderness of the northern regions. With almost 130 years of Arctic experience, HX has been a pioneer in expedition cruising, dating back to its inaugural journey in the Arctic Archipelago of Svalbard in 1896.

By October, MS Maud will head south to Antarctica, embarking on new and immersive expeditions that combine the majestic Patagonian fjords with Antarctica. The centerpiece of this adventure is the 17-day "Chilean Patagonia and Antarctica" expedition.

Additionally, MS Maud will undertake 23- and 24-day voyages, providing guests with a comprehensive exploration of South America and the UK's territories Falkland Islands and South Georgia in a single, remarkable adventure.
