P&O Ferries has notified passengers of the temporary cessation of sailings between Hull (England) and Rotterdam (Netherlands).

Pride of Rotterdam ferry, undergoing scheduled annual maintenance, is expected to resume operations on February 19.

This interruption affects the nightly 2-way service typically provided by the ship and its fleetmate and sistership Pride of Hull.

Passengers are advised to adjust their travel plans accordingly until regular operations are reinstated.

In its email, P&O said customers could book an alternative date / get a refund.

And added they did apologize for any impact that might have and hoped that the information allowed clients to plan ahead.

In a statement, the company said:

"The Pride of Rotterdam is currently undergoing routine maintenance as part of her scheduled annual check.

"All customers that have been impacted by this have been contacted by email. We expect sailings to resume normal service soon and will keep customers updated."
