Actor Jonathan Bennett has been chosen as the godfather for CCL-Carnival Cruise Line's vessel Carnival Firenze, set to embody the essence of Florence City, Italy.

Christine Duffy (CCL's President) announced this decision, surprising Bennett with the news. The ship, featuring Carnival Fun Italian Style, will be based in Long Beach, California, providing easy access for Bennett, who resides there.

The christening is scheduled for April 24, followed by the inaugural voyage on April 25.

Bennett's career spans various entertainment platforms, from soap operas to hit movies like "Mean Girls." He has also appeared in Hallmark Channel films, hosted shows for the Food Network, and headlined the New York Times Square New Year's Eve celebration, sponsored by Carnival for the past three years. Currently, Bennett is wrapping up his Broadway debut in "Spamalot."

Carnival Firenze's naming ceremony will take place on April 24th in Long Beach/LA, where Bennett will join Duffy. The event will be livestreamed on Carnival's Facebook page.

Carnival Fun Italian Style integrates Italian influences with Carnival's renowned fun-filled atmosphere. Launched in 2020, Carnival Firenze can accommodate over 5,000 passengers and will offer year-round cruises from Long Beach, ranging from 3 to 7 days in the Baja Mexico and Mexican Riviera regions.
