Cruise Saudi, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Public Investment Fund (PIF) and a key player in the development of Saudi Arabia’s tourism sector, has announced the launch of its new cruise line, AROYA Cruises.
The announcement was made during an exclusive event in Riyadh, which celebrated this milestone with trade partners and industry figures, as AROYA Cruises prepares for its maiden voyage in December 2024.
Named by combining "Arabian" and "Roya" (meaning vision or dream), AROYA Cruises aims to offer Saudi nationals, expatriates, and regional guests the opportunity to explore Saudi Arabia’s coastlines by sea. The cruise line is dedicated to showcasing Arabian experiences, highlighting the country’s cultural heritage, natural landscapes, and renowned hospitality.
AROYA Cruises will provide a high standard of service, premium onboard facilities, and a range of shore excursions, offering a distinctive regional experience. Operating as an independent brand within the Cruise Saudi portfolio, AROYA Cruises is designed to cater specifically to Arabian preferences, with its own operational and management team based in Jeddah.
Supporting Cruise Saudi’s broader goals, AROYA Cruises is part of a strategy aimed at welcoming 1.3 million cruise visitors annually by 2035, creating 50,000 direct and indirect jobs, and contributing to Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 tourism objectives.
AROYA brand’s inaugural voyage is set for December 16th, 2024, departing from Jeddah with itineraries that will include stops in Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Jordan. Future routes will expand into the Arabian Gulf and the Mediterranean Sea, offering diverse regional destinations.
Among the highlights of AROYA Cruises is the Khuzama experience, an exclusive onboard luxury concept that emphasizes Arabian hospitality, blending modern comfort with cultural elegance. Khuzama will offer high-end, tranquil spaces focused on relaxation and luxury, creating a unique experience for passengers.
