Crystal has confirmed that the Crystal Symphony will enter drydock in November 2025 for a planned 3-week program of refurbishment and technical work. The undertaking will focus on both guest accommodations and public areas, alongside a series of engineering upgrades intended to enhance performance and operational sustainability.
Two suite categories will be refreshed with new furnishings in keeping with the design scheme introduced during the vessel’s 2023 refit. The existing layouts and spacious bathrooms, which feature separate bathtub and shower facilities, will be retained, but updated carpets and wall coverings will provide a renewed appearance.
Public spaces will also receive attention under the direction of Studio Ibsen of Milan. The ship’s central atrium and Crystal Cove will be reconfigured to create a more fluid layout with increased seating. The water feature will be removed and replaced with a two-story mosaic by De Castelli, while the piano will be relocated and a new chandelier installed. The reception area will be elevated and fitted with a new desk, marble top, and backlit panel, with refinished walls and columns. Lighting and ceiling treatments on Deck 5 will be replaced, and the Crystal Cove bar will receive a redesigned counter, backbar niche, bottle shelving, and new high-end furniture.
On Decks 5 and 6, stair lobbies will be refined with revised ceiling structures, improved lighting, architectural wall detailing, and brass finishes around elevator entrances. The Starlite Club will have a redesigned dance floor and a new ceiling centerpiece while maintaining its established character. Public restrooms on Deck 5 will be refreshed with new flooring, wall finishes, and countertops, and the Bistro will receive updated wooden flooring.
The ship will also undergo significant technical works. These will include a full overhaul of the fin stabilizers’ hydraulic system, renewal of both evaporators, and the installation of new fuel and oil purifiers configured to allow biodiesel use. The fresh-water piping system will be extensively modernized, with hundreds of metres of new piping installed. Galleys, cold rooms, provision stores, and associated compressors will be renovated, while generator auxiliaries will receive comprehensive servicing. Steel renewals will be carried out throughout the vessel, including within the fuel tanks.
Upon completion, Crystal Symphony will resume service with the second annual Wellness Retreat voyages, which will feature the debut of a new production, Club Nights.
