Two venerable travel brands—Pan Am and HAL-Holland America Line—have joined forces to launch a 28-day cruise named the Pan Am 100th Anniversary Legendary Voyage, which will retrace the original “flying boat” Clipper routes across the Caribbean, Mexico and Latin America. Departing from Miami on October 30th, 2027 aboard the Zuiderdam, the itinerary covers 18 destinations along the Great Circle Route once pioneered by Pan Am.
The voyage is designed to evoke the era when Pan Am’s Clippers transformed long-haul travel. Holland America Line’s vice president of itinerary planning and deployment noted that both brands share a legacy of connecting people to the world, and that the collaboration is intended as a tribute to travel’s golden age while delivering cultural discovery and comfort aboard ship.
Zuiderdam’s route includes ports such as Nassau, San Juan, Port of Spain, Willemstad and Cartagena—many of which featured on Pan Am’s historic network. According to Pan Am’s CEO, the airline’s early flying boats offered unprecedented levels of elegance and comfort, and the cruise seeks to recreate that atmosphere at sea.
In parallel with the voyage, Holland America Line is also using the partnership to mark America’s 250th anniversary through thematic sailings and collaborations with iconic American brands. The cruise line’s chief marketing officer described the partnership with Pan Am as an expression of national innovation, adventure and heritage.
The Legendary Voyage melds historic tribute with maritime cruising, offering guests an experience that combines heritage-inspired décor, themed events and an immersive route through lesser-visited destinations, all aboard a modern vessel operated by a company with deep maritime roots.
