Authorities on St. Martin have issued an appeal for public assistance after a U.S. tourist traveling aboard the HAL-Holland America's cruise ship ms Rotterdam went missing during a shore excursion.
The woman, identified as 55-year-old Ann Evans, left the ship in Philipsburg on November 20th, 2025 to join an arranged tour. After the tour bus reached Marigot on the French side of the island, she disembarked — but she never returned to the group, nor made her way back to the vessel.
According to the island’s police force, the moment a missing-person report was lodged officers began a search that spanned both the Dutch and French sectors of the island. Local authorities also released her name, age, and nationality to help anyone who might have seen her come forward.
The cruise ship was scheduled to continue a 21-day Southern & Eastern Caribbean voyage, with the call at Port St. Maarten marking the shore-excursion departure point.
The appeal calls for any individuals who may have observed Ann Evans in Marigot or elsewhere on the island to contact local authorities. Officials also encouraged Evans herself to reach out to confirm her safety.
