Plans for the maiden sailings of Wovrld Legacy/fka Moby Zaza ferry, a newly refurbished vessel marketed by World Cruises as a hybrid "cruise and lifestyle" destination operating out of Singapore, underwent abrupt revision just days before scheduled embarkation. The operator postponed the preview voyages, originally slated to begin in mid-December 2025.
Passengers booked on sailings set to depart between December 19th and 22nd were emailed on December 17th that their cruises would not proceed as planned due to “operational requirements.” Full refunds and FCCs/future cruise credits would be issued to all affected bookings.
The cancellations affected excursions that had been promoted as preview voyages, with early publicity indicating that World Legacy would commence operations from the Singapore Cruise Centre at HarbourFront Centre and Puteri Harbour Cruise Centre in Johor Bahru in the period beginning around December 18th, offering flexible on-board stays ranging from a few hours to multi-day overnights.
Customers who had arranged travel, in some cases with extended family groups and pre-booked accommodation, reported learning of the postponement shortly before their embarkation dates and expressed frustration at the timing and impact on their plans, including challenges rescheduling or securing alternative voyages due to limited availability on subsequent dates.
Social media platforms associated with the vessel’s operations showed multiple comments from disappointed tourists recounting last-minute cancellations and expected refunds for the disrupted departures.
World Cruises has referred to the decision as a refinement of its initial launch schedule, without providing detailed specifics on the operational constraints that led to the deferment. The company indicated that refunds had been processed and that customer service channels were engaged with passengers to facilitate follow-up, including the allocation of cruise credits valid for sailings on World Legacy within the coming year.
The vessel itself, originally a cruiseferry repurposed and refitted to serve as a “floating lifestyle destination” with cabins, dining, entertainment and leisure facilities, was introduced with an unconventional format intended to attract both brief visits and extended stays from Singapore or nearby Malaysian ports.
This postponement represents an early operational adjustment for World Cruises as it prepares to bring World Legacy into service in the regional cruise market, with availability on the company’s booking platforms indicating that voyages from December 23rd onwards remain open for reservation.
Reportedly, the current shipowner is the Singapore-based company Dragon 1 Pte Ltd.
