Norwegian Jewel Skips Mexico Ports

Norwegian Jewel has adjusted her current Mexican Riviera itinerary following maintenance issues which created problems with ship's propulsion system.

The vessel, which left Los Angeles October 9, was originally scheduled to call at Puerto Vallarta, Cabo San Lucas and Mazatlan. Before the trip, travelers were advised that the Jewel would replace her October 13 visit to Mazatlan with a Puerto Vallarta overnight, as maintenance had to be conducted on the azipod propulsion system.

Because of the delay in the planned maintenance, Norwegian Jewel was unable to make her call in Cabo San Lucas yesterday, the line said in a statement. Passengers will receive a US$50 onboard credit per cabin as compensation.
