Orient Express Corinthian to host Guerlain wellness retreat during Atlantic crossing

Orient Express Sailing Yachts and Guerlain will offer a 14-night wellness retreat aboard Orient Express Corinthian during a transatlantic crossing from Lisbon to Bridgetown from October 12th to 26th, 2026.

The programme, titled Ocean Rebirth, will combine wellness, nutrition, movement, mindfulness and sleep within the setting of an extended voyage at sea.

Designed by architect and Artistic Director Maxime d'Angeac, OE Corinthian will provide the setting for a programme developed through the existing partnership between Orient Express Sailing Yachts and Guerlain, whose wellness expertise is already represented on board through the vessel's spa.

The itinerary will depart from Lisbon and call at Ponta Delgada in the Azores before continuing to Bridgetown. Guests will be able to undertake the full 14-night crossing or travel on one of two shorter segments: Lisbon to Ponta Delgada from October 12th to 15th, or Ponta Delgada to Bridgetown from October 15th to 26th.

Ocean Rebirth is structured around four elements of Guerlain's approach to well-being: nutrition, movement, mindfulness and sleep. A pre-journey assessment will be used to establish an individual programme for each guest, which can then be adapted during the crossing according to personal requirements and progress.

The programme will combine individual consultations, small-group workshops and guided sessions. Nutrition will form an important component, with the culinary programme developed by chef Yannick Alléno in collaboration with Guerlain's specialists. The concept is intended to integrate nutritional requirements into the overall guest experience rather than treating dining separately from the wellness programme.

Among the dedicated technologies available during the retreat will be LongeviSkin, a Guerlain device combining seven aesthetic technologies, including LED, plasma and radiofrequency. The programme will also include longevity consultations and Theragun recovery devices.

Five Guerlain wellness specialists will participate in the retreat, covering areas including holistic wellness, regenerative nutrition, massage and recovery, beauty and fitness. Their programmes will include breathwork, meditation, sound baths, mobility and movement sessions, deep-tissue massage, Guerlain treatments and nutrition-focused activities.

Amélie Demange, International Director of Aesthetic Expertise and Wellness Experiences Creation for Guerlain Spas, will conduct an individual Wellness Assessment for each guest. The assessment will provide the basis for a personalised programme, which she will coordinate throughout the retreat with the other specialists.

Déborah Passuti, a naturopath specialising in nutrition and longevity and an ambassador for Buchinger Wilhelmi, will oversee the regenerative nutrition component. Her programme will combine nutritional expertise with the culinary offering created by Yannick Alléno. Meals will be organised around three concepts — Timeless Glow, Pure Reset and Vitality Boost — allowing guests to select options according to their individual requirements and preferences.

The nutritional programme will extend beyond the main meals through a signature Longevity Breakfast, personalised consultations and masterclasses addressing regenerative nutrition and honey, an ingredient associated with Guerlain's heritage. The programme is intended to provide guests with nutritional practices that can also be applied after the voyage.

Slav Marinov will provide recovery and deep-tissue massage services. A 6-time world massage champion with more than two decades of experience, he has trained in anatomy and physiology at the National Sports Academy in Sofia and specialises in sports massage, neuromuscular therapy, trigger-point techniques, active stretching and joint mobilisation.

His sessions aboard OE Corinthian will be adapted to individual physical conditions, with the aim of addressing muscular tension, supporting recovery and improving mobility. His previous work has included treatments developed for international clients and luxury brands, including Guerlain.

Annabelle Deridder will represent the holistic beauty component of the programme. Her activities will include personalised treatments, facial techniques, beauty and make-up masterclasses, facial and body self-massage sessions and individual coaching. The sessions will focus on techniques and routines that guests can incorporate into their daily lives beyond the voyage.

Charles Ferreux will oversee fitness and movement. His background in classical ballet, including performances with international companies such as Béjart Ballet Lausanne, has informed his approach to posture, coordination and movement. He later expanded his work into personal training and wellness.

Aboard OE Corinthian, Ferreux will provide individual sessions focused on mobility, movement and strengthening, complemented by massage treatments intended to support relaxation and recovery. His programme will be adapted to each guest's physical condition, objectives and pace.

The combination of these disciplines is intended to create a continuous wellness programme during the Atlantic crossing, with the sea voyage providing the framework for consultations, treatments, physical activity and nutrition. The programme also places emphasis on giving guests practical techniques and knowledge that can be applied after the voyage.

Ocean Rebirth will return in 2027 with a west-to-east Atlantic crossing from Bridgetown to Lisbon. The second programme is scheduled for March 13th to 27th, 2027, with a two-day call in Ponta Delgada. Guests will again be able to choose between the complete itinerary or two segments: Bridgetown to Ponta Delgada from March 13th to 24th, and Ponta Delgada to Lisbon from March 24th to 27th.
