Cruise passengers who arrive at Portsmouth International Port will be sailing straight to the heart of Great Waterfront City, due to a unique free offering for visitors.

Saving precious time, guests will be able to step from the cruise ship onto a boat which will sail direct to Gunwharf Quays, the popular waterside shopping district of Portsmouth.

The passengers will sail past famous historic ships through the Royal Navy Dockyard, to the iconic Emirates Spinnaker Tower, from where they will disembark at Gunwharf Quays to enjoy dining, outlet shopping and entertainment.

The boat ride will enhance visitor experience, with a harbour tour which allows guests to get a great view of contemporary warships that could include the new HMS Queen Elizabeth aircraft carrier.

The new boat service is free for port of call visitors. It will be run by experienced operators Blue Funnel. This is a joint project between Gunwharf Quays and Portsmouth International Port.

The first cruisers to experience the new service arrive aboard Viking Star September 29. It is the first time a ship from Viking has visited Portsmouth International Port.
