The newest ship of Carnival Cruise Line, Carnival Horizon, successfully completed final sea trials in the Adriatic Sea. In the final stages of building at Fincantieri Italy, the ship had a full team of technicians, engineers and officers onboard who tested Horizon‘s mechanical, technical, and navigation systems.

The ship is set to debut on April 2 with a 13-day Mediterranean voyage from Barcelona, the first of 4 round-trip cruises from the port. The vessel will then reposition to the United States with a 14-day transatlantic crossing Barcelona-New York (May 9-23).

After the ship’s summer schedule of 4-day Bermuda and 8-day Caribbean departures from New York, Carnival Horizon will move to Miami FL and kick off year-round 6- and 8-day cruises to the Caribbean starting September 22. It will offer a special 2-day cruise to Nassau September 20-22.

Following sea trials, Horizon will benefit from interior and exterior finishings before preparing for guests in the spring. It is Carnival’s first new ship since May 2016 with Carnival Vista's debut.
