Carnival Cruise Cancelled Due to Technical Issues

The arrival of Carnival Cruise Line's ship in New Orleans has been delayed due to technical issues.

Carnival Triumph was scheduled to arrive in the port city Thursday morning, but was delayed until Thursday 8:00 p.m. because a technical issue affected the maximum cruising speed of the ship.

The cruise line said passengers will have the option to get off the vessel and head home after the arrival Thursday night or remain onboard and then get off Friday morning.

Carnival Triumph will then leave for Mobile where repair work, involving underwater work, will take place.

A 4-day cruise originally scheduled to leave New Orleans Thursday was cancelled and passengers will automatically get a refund plus 25% future cruise credit.
