Concordia and Damen Shipyards Group Sign a Joint Venture Agreement

DAMEN Shipyards Group and Concordia Group have signed a joint venture agreement on December 15, 2017 with the purpose of cooperating in the building and trade of inland waterway ships. The joint venture will operate as "Concordia DAMEN Shipbuilding", according to a press release by DAMEN.

Since 2001, Concordia Group has been active in Dutch inland waterways business as well as internationally over the past ten years. Concordia's corporate identity remains within the new joint venture, which is due to increase production capacity. 

In 2017, DAMEN Shipyards Group is celebrating its 90th birthday. DAMEN has been active in nearly all sectors of maritime industry since the beginning of 20th century. The company operates a global network of shipyards and an international sales & service network. Inland Waterways team, led by Simon Provoost, Product Director Inland Waterway Transport, will move from DAMEN headquarters in Gorinchem, to Concordia's office in Werkendam, Netherlands.
