Passenger Medevaced from Celebrity Solstice

A Coast Guard Air Station Sitka MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew has medevaced a woman from Celebrity Solstice close to Noyes Island, west of Craig, on Wednesday (May 30).

The Jayhawk helicopter crew has hoisted the 61-year-old passenger and transported her to Ketchikan, where Guardian Flight crew has been waiting for transport to higher medical care.

Coast Guard Sector Juneau watchstanders have received notification from the captain aboard Celebrity Solstice who reported a woman was suffering heart attack symptoms. A flight surgeon for 17th Coast Guard District has recommended a medevac. Sector Juneau watchstanders have directed the launch of Air Station Sitka helicopter crew.
