Ferry Boat and Public Bus Depot on Fire in Seychelles

Last week, the Seychelles suffered one of its biggest fires, which caused disruption of traffic to and from Victoria (Mahe Island).

The fire at Public Transport Bus Depot was quickly contained by island’s Fire Brigade. The same day of Victoria fire, a ferry boat for private island resort near La Digue also caught fire and sank just after the crew had been rescued.

Preparedness and responsibility lies on every one involved in industry. This is why the news of “Fire Drill & Basic fire fighting training” held but days before at Domaine de L’Orangeraie Resort of La Digue was salued.

The Security Manager of Le Domaine de L’Orangeraie Resort at La Digue, Amin Thulung, confirmed that on 2 days some 23 staffs from the different departments of the resort followed the fire drill and basic fire fighting training.
