Norwegian Jewel to Debut in Sydney After Renovation

Norwegian Cruise Line announced the completion of Norwegian Jewel's refurbisment as part of The Norwegian Edge program.

Following a 2-week dry dock in Singapore for the most extensive enhancement project of the company in 2018, Norwegian Jewel is due to debut in Sydney on December 1, showcasing updated spaces, refreshed venues, redesigned staterooms and premiere entertainment.

Offering 7- to 19-day itineraries to some of the most exotic destinations in the region, the ship will spend her winter 2018-spring 2019 seasons sailing from Sydney, Singapore and Hong Kong, prior to joining Norwegian Joy and Norwegian Bliss in Alaska for the summer.

  • All 1,188 passenger staterooms were upgraded with new TVs and USB outlets, new carpet, furniture and artwork. The Haven by Norwegian boasts updates to the courtyard, new finishes, tiles, drapes, carpets, artwork and furniture for all villas and suites, as well as additional cabanas situated on the sun deck. Norwegian Jewel also boasts 2 new Haven Deluxe Owner’s Suites (around 1,200ft2 with 567ft2 balconies and 2 private whirlpools) accommodating up to 4 guests.
  • The Atrium has been refreshed with a custom-design chandelier, updated flooring, refurbished shore excursion and reception areas. Relaxed banquette seating and large TV screen were also added.
  • Nearly all bar, lounge and dining offerings were updated, and 2 new venues were opened: Bliss Ultra Lounge and The Pit Stop, replacing FYZZ Cabaret Lounge and the Sky High Bar. The Pit Stop is an all-American bar drawing inspiration from the 1950’s, retrofitted with gas station signage, vintage license plates, and other classic car elements. Bliss Ultra Lounge features late-night entertainment in upscale setting. More intimate seating options are currently available.
  • Norwegian Jewel features 2 new shows: “Rock You Tonight” (showcasing a medley of songs from the world's best bands of the 70s, such as Queen, Journey, The Who) and ship exclusive “Velvet” (making its debut with disco classics, circus acrobatics, cabaret and burlesque elements).
