Hapag-Lloyd Cruises Unveils SPA and Fitness Facilities Aboard Its New Expedition Class Ships

   December 24, 2018 ,   Cruise Industry

The philosophy for the new expedition ships of Hapag-Lloyd Cruises, “Inspired by nature”, is reflected in the spa and fitness areas aboard Hanseatic Inspiration, Hanseatic Nature and Hanseatic Spirit.

Offering treatments that use natural cosmetics and sport facilities with sea views, the focus on ships' wellness decks is on empathy with nature.

Hapag-Lloyd's extensive Ocean SPA covers 2,530 ft2 (235 m2) on Deck 8. The treatment rooms were designed and constructed with nature as source of inspiration. The theme of beautiful landscapes is reflected in the tones, shapes and colours of many details. An outdoor area and floor-to-ceiling windows make the Finnish sauna a special experience. A steam sauna, ice fountain and hydrotherapy shower are also available.

Guests can enjoy a hairdressing salon, massage and cosmetic treatments. Sustainable products by Hyapur, John Masters Organics, Nailberry and Vinoble, are used exclusively. Line's “Inspired by nature” philosophy is reflected in vegan formulas and use of local produce with no synthetic additives or chemicals.

The approximately 1,076 ft2 (100 m2) fitness area is situated next to the Ocean SPA and boasts its own outdoor areas and floor-to-ceiling panoramic windows. State-of-the-art equipment is offered, along with a fitness studio with glass front that can be fully opened out on to its outdoor area. A fitness trainer helps guests use the equipment, and is on hand for personal training classes or for Pilates, core training, and Antarctic sun salutation.

Next to the fitness area is the Sun Deck, with a pool area covering about 6,781 ft2 (630 m2). Via the flexible canopy, it is used whatever the weather.
