Celebrity Summit Unable to Leave Port of San Juan

The Celebrity Summit ship was stuck In San Juan, Puerto Rico, due to what the passengers understood to be either a propulsion issue or computer glitch.

The vessel was scheduled to leave San Juan on Thursday, January 17,  but was unable to do so and a US$100 cabin credit was offered to guests.

No information was released but the US Coast Guard had to perform an inspection of Summit before it could leave Puerto Rico.

Finally, Celebrity Summit left port in San Juan Saturday night at around 9:15 pm.

The accident occurred at the beginning of 12-day "Dutch Antilles Caribbean Cruise" (January 17-29) planned as roundtrip from San Juan to Frederiksted (St Croix), Basseterre (St Kitts), St Johns (Antigua), Willemstad (Curacao), Oranjestad (Aruba), Kralendijk (Bonaire), Charlotte Amalie (St Thomas USVI) and Ponce (Puerto Rico).
