Vantage Cruise Line to Charter Ocean Explorer

Shipowner SunStone Ships signed their 4th shipbuilding contract on an expedition ship in the Infinity series. The newbuild, which will be constructed at the Chinese CMHI yard, is a CX103 design featuring X-BOW and designed by Ulstein.

Vantage Cruise Line is due to be the charterer for the 4th ship, Ocean Explorer. Planned voyages include East Asia, Scandinavia, and the Mediterranean.

Infinity-Class expedition ships are 104-meter long and 18-meter wide, with capacity to accommodate 130-200 passengers plus 85-115 crew. These modern ice-strengthened vessels are small enough to provide an exclusive atmosphere and large enough to yield all expected ship cruising facilities and services, such as restaurant, bar, boutique shop, open-air cinema, gym, spa, and jacuzzi. The ship harbors loads of gear for outdoor activities like biking, kayaking, paddleboarding, as well as small tender boats.

The Infinity class project is unique worldwide cooperation, with the operator (charterer), shipowner, and ship interior designer in the United States, the design company in Scandinavia (Norway), while the shipbuilding is carried out in China.

The first ship in the series of potentially 10 newbuild vessels, Greg Mortimer, is in its final phase before her scheduled delivery in Q3 2019. Next in line are Ocean Discoverer, Ocean Victory, Ocean Explorer, and 6 optional (still unnamed) cruise ships.
