New Costa Cruises Ship Named Costa Firenze

The new Costa Cruises Asian (Chinese) ship Costa Firenze is scheduled to start service in October 2020. The newbuild (currently under construction) will then sail for a month in the Mediterranean, from homeports Trieste and Savona, prior to starting on November 2, 2020, with a 51-day journey from Savona to Hong Kong.

Costa Firenze is expected to offer capacity for 5,200 passengers. She is the sistership of Costa Venezia which was christened in Trieste on March 1, 2019. Costa ships Venezia and Firenze are the first Italian liners specially designed for the Chinese cruising market. From the same Vista-Class are also the Carnival ships Vista (2016), Horizon (2018) and Panorama (2019).

Before Firenze is positioned in Asia, she will spend a whole month in the Mediterranean. Beginning today (May 6), five 5- to 7-day Mediterranean itineraries and the 51-day voyage to China are already available for booking.

The first cruise of Costa Firenze sails from Trieste to Savona, departing on October 1, 2020, and visiting Bari, Barcelona and Marseille. A week later, on October 8, the vessel departs from Savona for a short trip to Marseille, Barcelona and Savona. Firenze departs from Savona on October 12, 19 and 26 for three week-long sailings including Naples (replaced by Rome/Civitavecchia for October 19 itinerary), Messina (replaced by Palermo for October 19 itinerary), Valencia, Barcelona, and Marseille. The last cruise available is the positioning voyage to China: a 51-day route that departs from Savona on November 2, 2020, and is scheduled to end in Hong Kong on December 22, 2020.
