Carnival Fantasy has failed its most recent health inspection in July. The cruise liner, which is homeported in Port Mobile, Alabama, has scored 77 out of the possible 100 points during July 18, 2019 health inspection as part of the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) Vessel Sanitation Program. The score of 85- is considered failing.

The report states that violations included "visible film on top of the water" at vessel's main pool area, "water leaking onto covered containers of food and soiled bowls, cups and cutlery," among other infractions.

Due to the failed inspection, Carnival Cruise Line must submit a corrective action statement prior to another unscheduled inspection. Carnival said that it had "already taken corrective action" and expected to "exceed United States Public Health (USPH) standards."

Carnival Fantasy is now in the midst of a 5-day roundtrip to Western Caribbean and due to return to homeport Mobile AL on Saturday, August 10.
